Kaian Lam is based in Macau. She is interested in societal and development challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa. Her more recent research is dedicated to Portuguese Speaking Countries and Regions. She fills her leisure time leafing through novels, deciphering French verb conjugations, and reading other people’s fascinating papers.
Besides the academic credentials and European Commission training, Kaian Lam accumulated some years of local experience working for the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Civil Service & Public Administration Bureau. She also taught gastronomical history and food security courses at the Institute for Tourism Studies.
