Kaian Lam(林嘉欣)is based in Macau. Her more recent research is dedicated to Portuguese Speaking Countries and Regions.

Her research on multilingual negotiations in Europe was awarded by the Diplomatic Studies Section (DPLST) of the International Studies Association.
Besides the academic credentials and European Commission training, Kaian Lam accumulated some years of local experience working for the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Civil Service & Public Administration Bureau. She has been invited to sit on the Public Administration Reform Consultation Committee.
Kaian Lam taught gastronomical history and food security courses at the Macao University of Tourism.
She fills her leisure time leafing through novels, deciphering French verb conjugations, reading other people’s fascinating papers and experimenting with pottery.
